Moonie Valley Diwali Festival of Light 2009
Moonie Valley Council commissioned a place making projection instillation to celebrate Diwali in Moonie Valley.
Produced by The Gertrude Association. UP&UP Creative's Monique McNamara designed some rangolis [ circular story telling designs traditional within Indian Culture ] to light up the building and turn the drab exterior of the Town Hall into an Indian Palace.
Projectionist Olaf Meyer produced the final work. By mapping the building and creating the final artwork to be projected. The project ran for 10 days delighting the Moonie Valley public and acknowledging the growing Indian community in Moonie Valley
Kym Ortenburg managed the production of the project with the Council Arts Team.
It was a successful event with the Indian Community sharing cultural dance, songs and of course ...Indian Sweets. Yum.
